Legislative Reception and Short Session Update.
Members, prospective members, and the public are welcome to an afternoon of refreshment and discussion of the upcoming N.C. General Assembly's short session (beginning May 16), with short briefings from our Buncombe County delegation members. On display in the center's gallery is the art of Pat Passlof, the recently decease, former Black Mountain College student and lifetime artist. (The exhibit is co-sponsored by Western North Carolina University and NC Arts Council.)
Parking is available in the Home Trust lot on Woodfin, half a block from the gallery.

Early Voting Begins in Buncombe County.
Two-and-a-half weeks of Early Voting will get underway on Thursday, April 19. Eleven sites will be open across the county from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday until April 5, when voting hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Eleven Early Voting sites are available this year: Black Mountain Library, Fairview Library, North Asheville Library, South Buncombe Library, West Asheville Library, Biltmore Square Mall, Buncombe County Training Center, Kenilworth Presbyterian Church, Lutheran Church of the Nativity, UNCA-Justice Building, Weaverville Town Hall.

VOTE! North Carolina Primary Election.
Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. across the state. The primary election includes contested positions on the Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican ballots. Unaffiliated voters may choose one party ballot or vote on a nonpartisan ballot that ONLY lists the proposal for a Constitutional Amendment. (The Amendment is also on all other ballots.)
To obtain a sample ballot, along with precinct location and other personal voting information, call the Buncombe County Board of Elections' automated information line, 252-4200, or visit the N.C. Board of Elections website (http://www.ncsbe.gov) and click on "My Election Information."
